Shafiqul Haque : Dr. Mohammad Younus, the Chief Advisor of Interim Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh arrived in UK today 10 June 2025. He is expected to Receive the most prestigious King Charles Harmony Award.

It’s a Historical Moment for Bangladeshi’s in particular the expatriate in Uk. Hundreds of people are chanting slogans welcoming him despite some opposition from the supporters of previous government.

Dr. Mohammad Younus is an exceptional personality who take role to lead the country in a very difficult and challenging time. He is in the office less than an year, his vision and dynamic and patriotic leadership led the Bangladesh to stand on its own feet which everyone will accept that any previous government failed to do since the independence of Bangladesh.

Despite many oppositions and challenges from the administration in various levels he continues to progress and take Bangladesh in a different level.

After so much turmoil and bloodshed in recent times, the Non Partisan Interim Government has the capability to bring real change for the betterment of the people and country. It is a once in a lifetime exciting opportunity to transform Bangladesh and leave a lasting positive legacy.

The fundamental changes needed include the elimination of corruption and bribery in particular from all levels of society. I was so pleased to hear in his speech that anti corruption is his top priority and would like ideas and advice how to stop corruption and bribery from all levels of the public services. This is undoubtedly the biggest challenge faced by our people and requires urgent and robust action.

I would like to share some ideas in rebuilding of our great nation.

As a politician and local councillor in mainstream politics by serving in local authorities the knowledge and experience how to make Public Policy/Strategy and implementing these through Action Plans- vision of a corruption free Bangladesh. and have a detailed plan on how we can achieve this.

By implementing all the reforms, strategy, policy changes we can eliminate corruption and bribery from all levels including Police, Civil Services, Judiciary, all departments in different ministries by establishing integrity and responsibility at all levels. To achieve this, we need to work across the board in cooperation with all ministries, directorates and departments. This may involve setting up a National Anti Corruption taskforce which will lead the restructure, reorganisation and transformation of public bodies to eliminate corruption and embed a new culture of accountability and transparency.

Bangladesh never ever was out of the influence of neighbouring country, Dr Yunus is the only head of government who is taking the bold moves for the best interest of the country.

Dr. Younus was requested by student leaders of Historic July Revolution at a critical juncture in Bangladesh’s history—immediately following the historic July Revolution, At a time of economic despair, lawlessness, and widespread disillusionment, Dr. Younus stepped forward to lead a broken nation toward recovery, justice, and hope.

Under his stewardship, Bangladesh has experienced a remarkable transformation. The economy is now showing signs of strength and revival. Through strategic reforms and inclusive development of strategies by restructuring the national economy, empowered grassroots initiatives, and fostered foreign partnerships that promise a brighter future for millions.

Dr Yunus under his visionary and dynamic Leadership has also restored the rule of law and reinvigorated public trust in democratic institutions. The culture of impunity that has been steadily dismantled, giving way to a society increasingly rooted in justice and accountability.

Internationally, Dr. Younus has enhanced Bangladesh’s standing through visionary diplomacy. His recent trips to China and Japan and signing of bilateral agreements with the respective Government will result thousands of Bangladeshis gain employment and training opportunities —an initiative that reflects both his commitment to improving lives and his ability to build lasting global partnerships.

Dr. Younus’s leadership is not only reshaping Bangladesh but giving new hope to the people of Bangladesh. His bold approach and visionary steps and leadership inspiring the people, in particular the youth. especially the youth. He has become a symbol of hope for a new generation determined to build a democratic and progressive nation without the influence of any other country.

The ‘King’s Harmony Award’ itself is a powerful testimony to take Bangladesh to the world stage.
The British Government and the Expatriate’s are eagerly waiting to Honour the icon of Bangladesh and in the world stage.

Within the short period of time he has shown Bangladesh and Bangladeshi new hope that we can do it, his journey is not smooth in every single steps and every single day facing opposition even from his own administration, despite that he is continuously taking the country forward.

Despite his reassurances that he will held a free and fair election the political parties are getting impatience to held an election by December. Although now he has declared a roadmap for election I. April 2025. It could have been better for our country and political parties as well to have necessary reforms before the election. It’s unbelievable the progress and transformation in all levels made under the leadership of Professor Dr Muhammed Yunus.

His visit to the UK to receive the most prestigious award is more than a ceremonial occasion, it’s a milestone for the us the global Bangladeshi expatriate. He makes us the community proud.

His outstanding personality and dedication and determination to rebuild our country within a very short period of time(less than an year) is an inspiration for the future generations of Bangladesh that we could do if we have a patriotic corrupt free government of the people, by the people and for the people.
